How do I know what my target audience on Facebook wants to see?

Asked 7 months ago

Hi, I've decided to start a business page and shop on Facebook. Now it's time to figure out what content I will post. However, I'm unsure how to determine my audience or what content they would be interested in seeing. Help?

Facebook has three types of audiences: Saved, Custom, and lookalike. To learn more about each audience type, let's break it down further:

  1. Saved Audience: It includes those built on shared demographics like age, location, gender, interest, etc.
  2. Custom Audience: It allows you to reach out to the past audience of your website. There are different ways to approach past audiences either you can use your existing customer files or your website traffic.
  3. Lookalike Audience: This group of potential customers who share similar characteristics as your existing customers. The prerequisite for creating a lookalike audience has an existing source audience.

Identify the best-performing posts on your Facebook page to see what your audience actually wants to see. Or, if you don't have enough content on your page, study your competitors. See what type of content and which post format is working best for them. Replicate (not duplicate) the same strategy for your biz while adding creativity and value to stand out.

Additionally, feel free to experiment to find out what your audience wants the most. You can experiment with different post types and let your audience throw the darts at the conclusion.
