Does an error 404 broken link affect the SEO ranking for my Shopify store?

Asked a month ago

I noticed that one of my Shopify product pages presents an error 404 message when you click on the link, which means that this page does not exist on the server. It took me a long time to remember that I had deleted that page and wanted to set up a 301 redirect to my homepage instead. My concern is that thanks to my forgetfulness, I have impacted my store's ranking on Google.

A broken 404 error link can affect your store's SEO indirectly. It can decrease your dwell time and elevate your page's bounce rate. Moreover, the 404 error brings a negative impact on page traffic. Therefore, you must convert 404 error links to 301 relevant linking pages.
