How do you know if a customer is repeated?

Hey peeps, I've been using Google Analytics to see how my store is doing. However, I've become a bit stuck. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to know if a customer is repeated or not? Then, how do I work out the customer return rate?

You can calculate the customer repeat rate, eCommerce metric in two ways:
- Repeat customers / Number of total customers x 100 = Customer Repeat Rate
- To make it specific, use the following formula: Total of repeat customers who purchased 2+ times / Total number of customers who have purchased 1+ times x 100 = Customer Repeat Rate
A reasonable customer repeat rate falls between 20-40 percent. Repeat customers are loyal customers; they spread your word and help increase sales.
