What services do open source product analytics platforms provide?

I have heard about open source product analytics platforms like KNIME Analytics Platform and Rapid Miner, but I don't truly understand what they do. What services do they provide?

KNIME analytics provides a platform to develop open-source data science software. With KNIME, you can open and combine the code source from CSV, PDF, XLS, JSON, XML, and other file formats. It makes it easier for you to integrate and run an open-source program. You can access and retrieve the data from Salesforce, SharePoint, SAP Reader (Theobald Software), Twitter, AWS S3, Google Sheets, Azure, and other relevant software through KNIME. The same function goes for Rapid Miner, but Rapid Miner is more focused on the visual aspect of data science.
