What is a website sales funnel?

Asked a year ago

Hi all, I'm new to building an e-commerce business and have just started working on my website. I was told I would need t set up a website funnel, but I really don't know what that means. What is a website funnel, and where do I even begin to incorporate it in my website?

A sales funnel analysis is a sequel of steps that attracts viewers and leads them towards purchase decisions. It consists of several pages: a landing page, pricing page, cart page, confirmation page, and a thank you page. It differs from a website because it directs traffic through a sequence of steps towards the end goal - making a purchase. The best sales funnel example is Netflix, which has clear and understandable stages leading website visitors to subscriptions.

Website sales funnel (also known as conversion or sales/marketing funnel) is the process of attracting potential buyers to your website and directing them to take the desired action. The action can include macro (make a purchase) and micro conversion (signing up for an email newsletter) goals. Creating a successful sales funnel is essential for the success of marketing strategies. A simple sales funnel is based on four steps of AIDA: Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action.
